On 12 October, the ESG Awards organized by BDO Limited (BDO) was held in Hong Kong. China State Construction Development Holdings Limited (hereinafter referred to as “China State Construction Development” or “Company”) has received 3 awards in the “Small Market Capitalisation” category for outstanding performance in the ESG field, including the only grand award “ESG Report of the Year Awards”, “Best in Reporting Awards” and “Best in ESG Awards – Certificate of Merit”.
The “BDO ESG Awards” has been started since 2018. It is the first award in Hong Kong aimed at advocating the businesses to pay more attention to social responsibility and emphasizing the integration of sustainability into business models. The award has high reputation and recognition in the industry, supported by a panel of independent experts and organizations including Mr. Anthony Cheung (the Supervisory Board Member, World Benchmarking Alliance), Professor Carlos Lo Wing-hung (Head of Department of Government and Public Administration and Director of the Centre for Business Sustainability, The Chinese University of Hong Kong), Dr. William Yu (Founder and Chief Executive Officer, World Green Organisation), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the CFA Institute, and the Hong Kong Institute of Directors etc.
“ESG Report of the Year Awards” is the highest recognition in the “Small Market Capitalisation” category of this award, which rewards small and medium-sized Hong Kong-listed company that has positive contributions and great impact in the ESG field. China State Construction Development has established a sustainability committee, leading group, and working group to mobilize sustainability-related issues, formulate sustainability strategic plan, set decarbonisation targets, and gradually implement emission reduction measures. Besides, the Company actively researches, develops and applies building-integrated photovoltaic products to promote the use of renewable energy in the industry. Moreover, China State Construction Development also focuses on employee relations and safety, providing various types of training to enhance talent development and awareness of safety management.
In the future, China State Construction Development will continue to promote ESG works and actively improve ESG-related disclosure and reporting standards.
