This November 21st, 2016, the “Our Communal Playground” book conference and lecture about Children’s entertainment rights were successfully held by China Overseas Holdings Ltd (refer as COHL) and Treats, a local charity origination, at The Commercial Press (TST). As one of the organizers, Far East Global Group (refer as FEGG) sent two volunteers to this event.
To play is children’s basic rights. However, due to natural ability, social background and other reasons, some children may not have equal access to the common amusement areas. In order to promote the idea of equal communion, COHL and Treats jointly organized a creative program, “Children’s Dream, Our Thoughts”, for students from both Mainland China and Hong Kong SAR. Among them, FEGG has successfully organized the fourth workshop in Hong Kong this May for 25 students from regular schools and special needs education. Fifteen employees volunteered in this event and had a wonderful communion tip with all of the students. Through art workshop, Children who have different abilities and from different backgrounds turn into space designers. They created their own communal playground regarded to care and love to different people. In the end, we planned to publish a book, “Our Communal Playground”, with everyone’s creative ideas and hold a lecture to raise awareness of equality and care.
This is FEGG’s third year to participate the communal program curated by COHL and Treats. Through the help of corporates, we hope to create more equal opportunities for children and spread the idea of respect instead of discrimination. Let’s work together on social responsibilities and create a caring community!
