In December 2017, Far East Global Group (refer as FEGG) was awarded for the first time during the “18 Districts Caring Employers” awarding program, which was organized by the Hong Kong Labour and Welfare Bureau, Rehabilitation Advisory Committee and The Hong Kong Joint Council for People with Disabilities. This award represents a recognition of the efforts that FEGG has put towards employment of people with disabilities.

The “18 Districts Caring Employers” awarding program has been supported by employers of different fields from the 18 districts. There are 196 organizations obtained the award this year, including 127 commercial organizations, 38 non-governmental organizations and 31 public welfare organizations. The awarding organizations all employed varieties of workers with disabilities, such as: Physical Disabilities, Hearing Impairments, Visual Impairments, Mental Retardations, Mental Rehabilitations, Autism, Attention Deficit Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Long-Term Disease. Employers managed to arrange suitable positions for those workers according to their abilities and favor, to guide them and let them make the most out of their post.
FEGG organized a “Documents Reduction” activity this year from June to August, requiring each department to organize old documents, clear out hard copies, scan and tidy up important files, to make easy access to all the archive, to form a tidy and comfortable working space. The company specifically employed two short-term workers with hearing impairments, visual impairments and dyslexia for this activity. They helped with paper shredding, document scanning and data organizing. This act not only helped our office with tidying, but also helped the community’s labor problem at the same time.
We believe that all members deserve the same rights in the community. People with disabilities should have equal rights to be recognized and employed as well. The company will keep on caring for the minority groups, putting efforts towards social responsibilities. Let us all respect others and form a better community together.
